Newby Hall

Newby Hall is an 18th-century country house, situated beside the River Ure at Skelton-on-Ure, near Ripon in North Yorkshire, England. It is a Grade I listed building, and contains a collection of furniture, painting, and precious artefacts. The south side of the grounds by the river has extensive herbaceous borders and woodland walks

This is taken from the opposite bank of the river where I was walking a small section of the Yoredale Way. The Yoredale Way is a long distance walk that follows the course of the River Ure, from its source on the high fells in the Yorkshire Dales National Park above Kirkby Stephen, to the village of Boroughbridge.

The traditional canal boat is offering short trips along the River Ure
