AAA Transport Services IUI2781
One of the early vehicles of AAA Transport Services of Luton was Ford Transit IUI 2781 which had been new in Northern Ireland in 1988 and purchased by original AAA owner Michael Gearty in the late 1990's from vehicle auctions in Northern Ireland along with two Toyota HiAce's OIL 6889 and IUI 9013, both of which had been imported into Northern Ireland from Japan. OIL 6869 was later owned by 'Lord' Tony Houlahan who lived in a cottage on Luton Hoo (he also later owned Mercedes 310 E491 JLK, another early AAA vehicle). IUI 9013 was sold on as a taxi to an owner in Aylesbury and IUI 2781 was parked at several locations in the Luton area before arriving back at Julius Gardens, Luton as seen here in early 2002. It was later dumped at Faldo Farm, Barton Le Clay and was scrapped in early 2003.
