CATALINA CASTLE-SPAIN.....

On the summit of the Cerro de Santa Catalina it was already raised in the s. IX an old citadel of Caliphate origin. Centuries later, after the conquest of the city by Ferdinand III in 1246 the Christian castle was built that has reached to this day. In the nineteenth century, because of the invasion of Napoleonic troops, the castle underwent a series of reforms in order to strengthen the defensive structures. Very close to the castle, in the 60s the building that houses the National Parador was built. From the summit you can see spectacular views of the city and surroundings, in particular from the viewpoint of the Cross. The fortress houses the new interpretation center where a tour of the castle's history is made.
