CAPTION SEVEN- INTIMIDATING PUBLIC SPACES

The Consumerist Urbanism which characterises Shoppingtown has inadvertently become interrelated with Sanitised Urbanism, alluding to the notion of exclusionism present in consumption spaces (Carmona, 2010). Heavy security presence, in conjunction with cautionary signage and CCTV has intimidated the fulfilment of consumption places as entirely inclusive spaces.
