The coincidences that keep on coinciDancing [Jewel...and Taylor]

So, to sum up this weird link between my Simply Simpatico Poppy, Jewel...and Taylor Swift.

Back in 2012/2013 I started building Jewel's character.

Among other (more important) things, she emerged to be a huge Swiftie.

The funny thing is that I didn't listen to Taylor Swift back then, but Jewel did.

I thought she fitted perfectly with her stubborn girl-next-door personality.

As for Taylor, I didn't love her but I didn't hate her either.

I thought she was cute, made pretty country-pop songs, I appreciated her songwriting because she was telling her story through her music and I thought the way some media and public perceived her was quite irritating.

Did she date too much? Was she too petty in her break up songs? Maybe, but art is art and she was just making her own art with her songs. Years later I personally approached Taylor's music with folklore and evermore. I found my own link to her in these projects. I love pop music too, but I like 'brainy' stuff a bit more. And the tales of the FolkMore universe were speaking to me (speak now🎵haha) more than anything Taylor had ever put out.

Except All too well. I still remember watching that Grammy performance and thinking "I wish she made more songs like this one" and thankfully she did with folkore and evermore :P

Anyways, the 10 minute version of All Too Well became very important in Jewel's world-building too.

When Midnights came out, thought, the coincidences started...coinciDancing (I love this stupid pun, don't judge me 😁).

Jewel's name was literally in a song (Bejeweled) and her love interest (coming soon :P) was perfectly depicted in another song (Maroon) as if Jewel's whispered the lyrics in Taylor's ear.

I wish I could say more about this one because there is a crazy amount of details to unpack, but It's all still in the works. Let's just say that this love interest is travelling towards her now 😇

Then when the Bejeweled video came out I remember a 2012 picture of Jewel who was dressed up in the exact same colours of one of her looks in the video, and now...this coat?

This is a recent picture (I believe she was spotted having dinner with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds wearing it yesterday) and as soon as I saw it I literally screamed, lol!

I know, I rambled a lot but I needed to write all of this down 😁

Done
