Intelligence Corps Cap Badge (Staybrite)
The modern Intelligence Corps was founded 19 July 1940 and, sidestepping a move to disband it in 1968, is still in existence today. The rose was an Elizabethan symbol of secrecy (as in sub rosa, under the rose). The combination of laurel leaves and rose, gives the regimental quick march its name 'The "Rose & Laurel' (aka "Rose & Grovel). The badge is often referred to as the "Flaming Cabbage", the rose being red in the regimental crest.
