Berlin Olympiad 2000 Campaign Noodle Plate

After unification, the German Government hoped to secure the 2000 Olympics for Berlin, mounting a campaign in Berlin to convince the Berliners. Some didn't think it was a good idea after the 1936 Olympics, others just didn't want it. These included the West Berlin Police and the Ruhleben/Spandauer Damm allotment (Gartenkolonien) owners. This was because the state of the art Police Training College in Ruhleben, and the allotments, were scheduled for demolition to make way for an Olympic Village. Of course, as we know, it never happened.

This plate was sold on the Ku-Damm for about 8 DM full of noodles; keep the plate or get some money back.
