Mute Swan & Cygnets, Monmouthshire-Brecon Canal, Star Street. Old Cwmbran 10 May 2025

At least six mute swan (Cygnus olor) cygnets have newly hatched at Star Street; there is still one egg in the nest but every year there is always an unviable egg. The mother was shading her cygnets from the sun before settling down on top of them; these two objected, and struggled to get out by the side.
