Monmouthshire County Hall was demolished here in 2013 and offered to developers. Finally, last year, it was acquired by Kier Construction. A planning notice on the main gate dated 31 July 2018, states Kier’s intention to build 144 houses here, with corresponding landscaping and infrastructure. A similar application on nearby Llanyravon Way dated 11 December 2018, has reduced the figure to 143.
