St Mary's Church, Malpas, Newport 25 November 2013
An inscription implying a degree of uncertainty, "resting in hope".
The current neo-Norman style church was built in 1850 on the site of a 12th Century monastic cell linked to Montacute Abbey in Somerset. It lay under the current church. The 1850 church was designed using features from the original church and it is one of only a few built in Wales in the neo-Norman style before church design settled on the Gothic style. It is a Grade II Listed Building.
