"Normalized Awkwardness"

This photo was taken during a recent family wedding, during one of the most uncomfortable yet cherished traditions. A heterosexual wedding ceremony is typically focused around a number of engendered conventions, one of which being that the bride is expected to look and act “princess-like”, while the groom goes along with her desires. Guests are also expected to support this role-play, as they gather to watch the first actions of the new couple, regardless of how terrible dancers they may be.
