Republic Gunship (Clone Wars Version)

Brought to you in collaboration by Bousker & NanoRex, we are proud to present our LEGO Republic Gunship as seen in the 3D animated Clone Wars series. A fan favourite, the LAAT/i (Low Altitude Assault Transport / Infantry) played a critical role in countless battles and pivotal events during the Clone Wars.

In service to this adoration, this model was crafted with utmost attention to detail, scale, proportions, and shape, and a 3D model originating from the actual Clone Wars series was used as reference. The model features a full-body taper, starting with a 4 stud width at the front, increasing to a 7 stud width at the back. Unique to the Clone Wars version of this craft, the curving shapes on the underside are a detail that was faithfully included. Many small details and patterns from the original were recreated without the need for stickers, such as the light grey patterning in the doors and fuselage, small yellow markings, and flush 2x2 round Republic logo tile. Finally, the extremely back-heavy and somewhat awkward structure of the Republic Gunship was replicated without the need for an accuracy-compromising vertical support column in the troop bay.

Building instructions will be available in the coming days! Look out for updates!

Important notes:

This model is intended primarily for display purposes. While it is strong enough to support its own weight, there are parts of the build that are fragile and may fall off when handled.

Many complex techniques are used to achieve the iconic tapered hull shape and the necessary strength to support the weight of the wings over the troop bay, so we recommend that only experienced builders take on this challenge.
