Albertsons had a location near Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas that Albertsons LLC did a sale-leaseback with a real-estate developer who planned to turn the space into a multi-use complex, possibly building condos above the Albertsons. When the recession hit, the real-estate developer gave up their plans, deciding to simple sell the store to Kroger. Nearby, the store pictured above was a former Minyard sold to independent grocer City Market. When Albertsons learned their store had been sold to Kroger, Albertsons made City Market an offer for their store. City Market is now being remodeled into an Albertsons (as shown) and the former Albertsons will reopen in February or March as Kroger.
