HUMAN DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
The human digestive system includes gastrointestinal tract and organs such as liver, gall bladder, stomach, intestines, etc. The digestive system comprises of various functions such as ingestion, motility, secretion, digestion, absorption and excretion. The food we consume contains bio-macromolecules such as proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, which break down into simpler form through hydrolysis reactions aided by various digestive enzymes and distributed to tissues through blood or lymph. In the end, undigested material is excreted out from the body.
