First route to introduce frog-faced buses to the capital and a lengthy one despite losing some of its allocation due to frequency cuts. | Go-Ahead London Metrobus Wrightbus Volvo Gemini 3 Hybrid Frog on the 119 to Purley Way, Colonnades.

The 119 debuted the Gemini 3 frog back in early 2015 and as a result, has unintentionally started a plague that has spread to the southern and central areas. Now you wonder why so many of them are on those routes.

I’ve said in the past about how little I like these buses so I don’t feel I need to say anything else on that front. It’s a long route at 11 miles and had a frequency cut a couple of years ago along with a few other Metrobus routes around the Croydon area. It’s certainly busy enough to warrant a 24hr service.

The terminus is a bit weird though; it’s a shopping centre next to the playing fields that bear no relation to the airport that closed in 1959.

BP15OLV (WHV45) is at Bromley South Station working a journey to Purley Way, Colonnades via West Wickham and Croydon. Based at Croydon (C) Garage.
