Death Star Trench Run - Set mod
“You’re all clear kid. Now let’s blow this thing and go home!”
I was given the Death Star Trench Run set (75329) as a Father’s Day present. It’s a really fun build and intended to show an iconic moment in the film. But I don’t think the set shows the most iconic part of that sequence. The best part for me is when Han Solo swoops in, obliterating one Tie fighter, causing the other to collide with Vaders Tie, sending him spiralling off into space.
To turn the set into this moment I needed to first lengthen it by 16 studs on both the ground and back wall. I then needed to fill these areas staying faithful to the style from the main set, but still bringing in new textures and shapes.
Then of course, I needed to create my own Millennium Falcon to scale. The cockpit piece from the micro fighter Falcon set was the perfect place to start and a few hours later, this is the result. NOW it shows an iconic moment!
