the height of summer..

Purple cone flowers - or cone flowers of any kind seem to signal the height of summer around here.. These were in Travis' yard in Iowa, so they were a few weeks ahead of those around here. Summer is kinda short there. so that they can squeeze in those other seasons into a year.

 

Around here, we really only have two seasons, so we're not in such a rush..
