the sun is always sweeter in the wintertime..
We always appreciate the warmth of the sun a little more when it's not beating down on us - but instead is stingy with it's life-giving heat and light. The less we have of it - the more we want of it. In the summer, we may duck into the shade, and shield our eyes from it's glare. But here in the dead of winter, we can't get enough, can we.. Even though the glass in the door is double-pane and cuts out most of the sun's energy and heat, there is still enough there that he seems much more comfortable in his sunny spot than when he's not.
This is his red plaid cover, which is nice and light. Min-pins are one of the few breeds that they actually recommend you provide extra warmth for, as their coats are extremely fine and short. Since they were bred as lap dogs, one of their purposes was to keep their master (or more commonly - their Mistress..) warm, and they way they did that was by transferring heat from their bodies to their Mistresses lap through their thin coats. I assume it was a mutually beneficial arrangement...
I slid this one pretty well all over the place, to bring out the warmth of the sun, and the red in his little red plaid outfit. I hope everybody had a great weekend - HSS Y'all!
