goodbye to summer...
These thin, delicate daisies are the last sign of summer - and the first sign of fall here in Southeast Texas.. When you see these popping up everywhere along the roads and in sunny patches in the woods - you know that the first cool nights are not far behind.. And the bumblebees know that. They are out gathering as much pollen as they can before the days turn wet and cold, and there is precious little blooming.. It's as if the table has been set for one last banquet, with more than they can possibly eat - and when they have had their fill, they will do as this little guy is doing - and waddle their way back to the hive and settle in for the lean times, content with knowing that they could not have done any more than they have done...
Goodbye, little friend - see you in the Spring!
