Ours is but one of perhaps an infinite number of parallel universes. If this theory is true, then literally anything is possible. Because "infinite" is a very big number. There would be a universe where the "Butterfly Effect" has caused that universe to diverge from ours in every possible way, where a single event had a different outcome, and the world changed in a different direction.
There would be a world where the Japanese found our aircraft carriers before we found theirs in the Battle of the Coral Sea.. There would be a world where Homo Sapiens failed to prevail against the Neanderthal.. Where the Aztecs slaughtered the Spaniards on the beach where they landed, and then conquered the world..
There would be a world where your mother and father never met. Thank goodness it wasn't *this* one...
