There are some clocks you can't roll back..
The clock that controls the lives of migrating birds (like hummingbirds) pays no attention to what we humans do or when we do it. When it's time to go, it's time to go.
As promised, I stopped feeding the hummingbirds in October. Not because I don't love having them around, but because I do. Even if I were willing to feed them all year long (and I would..), they would only die when it got cold. So actually it would be selfish and cruel to continue feeding them.
The migration is dangerous and tough for these guys, and some won't make it, I'm sure. But that *is* the way of the world, whether we like it or not. And mucking around with the way of the world always, always has "unforeseen consequences"..
Always.
