I read an article today about a cave in France where Neanderthals arranged stalagmites into circles 176,500 years ago. Scientists are stunned that they had that level of sophistication that long ago..
And if they were able to organize and build the ceremonial circles, that implies that they performed ceremonies. And if modern man is any example, one must conclude that any self-respecting Neanderthal female would have applied a generous amount of red lipstick before entering the cave..
