Looking back over the long row that he's had to hoe...Eeking out a living in the piney woods with 3 kids in the 40's can't have been easy. But he did it. He also ran a working farm, with a full acre of vegetables, cows for milk, raised calves for slaughter, and chickens for eggs and Sunday dinner... He was also one of those guys you just didn't want to disappoint. He could put just about anybody in their place without even raising his voice - much less cursing. Earnest Sims was a heck of a man, but I know he missed his wife something awful.
