When setting up for my 1st hard light shot I used one of the cheap cones that comes with the light to create a more defined shadow. Once I got that on the light I checked the light meter to make sure it was on F8, I did have to adjust it from the soft box because the light was more harsh. The shot wasn't too difficult to take and I feel like I am actually understanding how to set up these different styles now.
