Inside Milan - C - 472
Milan Missori
Basilica of Santa Eufemia
SDC-4473
The neo-Gothic internal aspect was restored several years ago and brought back the 19th-century aspect of Cavenaghi's decorations, a little too redundant but which give a unique aspect to completely different and distant sections, such as the enlarged central part and up.
Inside there are some noteworthy works, such as the Marriage of Saint Catherine, oil on canvas from the Leonardo school, attributed by some to the hand of Marco d'Oggiono (late 1400s) in the first chapel on the left of the nave. Also by d'Oggiono is the canvas depicting the Madonna with Child and Saints. Transported from the nearby deconsecrated church of San Paolo Converso, there is the painting of the Pentecost by Simone Peterzano (Venice, 1535 - Milan, 1599), and finally a more recent painting (1920) of the Holy Rosary, by Augusto Lozzia.
