4566 into Port Sunlight Station.

30th April to 2nd May the "Vintage Rail and Public Transport Weekend" sponsored by Lever Bros. GWR 4566 and Jinty 7298 T&T between Port Sunlight station and the Margerine Works (Van den Bergh and Jurgens) at Bromborough.

4566 is running in on the alignment of the up slow that ran between Woodside and Chester. Spital station is visible in the background. The only whiff of steam post 1968.

that this route has had to date.

41xx tanks were running through Port Sunlight regularly on passenger services between Birkenhead and Chester up to about 1958 and I remember them travelling to school in the mid fifties so perhaps 4566 doesn't look too out of place as it pulls into the temporary platform at Port Sunlight although a Penzance allocated one would!
