Silberreiher / Great White Egret

Dieses Foto eines Silberreihers habe ich bei einem Sparziergang am Ortstrand aufgenommen. Ich stehe an einem Feldweg welcher einem der vielen Entwässerungsgräben folgt. (Nur) auf einer Seite der Gräben befinden sich Sträucher oder auch mal Bäume und da wo es frei ist, wächst Schilf. Letzteres habe ich mir zunutze gemacht, die Sonne kommt flach von vorne und wird durch die Schilfhalme gefiltert. Es ist hell und der Reiher wird indirekt beleuchtet. Dadurch werden die weißen Federn nicht vom direkten Licht ausgefressen. Auf dem Foto sieht alles mit dem hübschen Silberreiher fast idyllisch aus - aber 10m hinter mir ist die Straße zum nächsten Ort, 200m rechts stehen eine Tankstelle und ein Metallbaubetrieb. Auf dem Feldweg führen Leute ihre Hunde aus und unmittelbar rechts daneben ist eine Agrarwüste namens Acker. Ich weiß nicht, wie es euch geht, aber Naturfotografie an dichtbesiedelten Orten empfinde ich immer als Herausforderung. :-D

 

I took this photo of a Great White Egret on a walk along the edge of my village. I am standing on a dirt track that is following one of the many drainage ditches. (Only) on one side of the ditches there are bushes or sometimes trees and where it is clear, reeds grow. I took advantage of the latter, the sun comes at a low angle from the front and the reeds work like a filter. It is bright and the heron is indirectly illuminated. This means that the white feathers are not washed out by the direct light. In the photo, everything looks almost idyllic with the pretty

Great White Egret - but 10m behind me is the road to the next town, 200m to the right is a petrol station and a metal construction company. People are walking their dogs on the dirt track and immediately to the right is an agricultural desert called Farmland. I don't know about you, but I always find nature photography in densely populated places a challenge. :-D
