Sanderling
Der Sanderling ist in der Hinsicht besonders als das er sowohl im Deutschen wie im Englischen denselben Namen hat. Auf dem Foto sieht man ihn in seinem Schlichtkleid, welches er im Winter trägt wenn er aus seinen Brutgebieten in den Süden kommt. Dieser kleine Kerl ist ein Langstreckenzieher. Wenn auf der Nordhalbkugel Winter ist kann man ihn mit Ausnahme der Antarktis an allen Küsten der Erde antreffen, bis runter zum Südzipfel Australiens, Südafrikas oder Chiles.
The Sanderling is special in that it has the same name in both German and English. In the photo you can see it in its plain plumage, which it wears in winter when it comes south from its arctic breeding grounds. This little guy is a long-distance migrant. When it is winter in the Northern Hemisphere you can find it on all coasts of the world, down to the southern tip of Australia, South Africa and Chile.
