Austernfischer / Oystercatcher
In den letzten Wochen haben erdige Farbtöne meinen Fotostream dominiert. Zur Abwechslung kommt hier deshalb ein Bild eines im Watt der Nordseeküste laufenden Austernfischers. Alle paar Zentimeter sieht man wie Wattwürmer das Watt bewegen oder Wasser in die Luft spritzen. Offensichtlich rechnet sich der Austernfischer dort wo Bewegung ist bessere Chancen auf eine Mahlzeit aus und flitzt dort hin.
Over the last few weeks, earthy tones have dominated my photo stream. For a change, here is a picture of an oystercatcher running in the mud flats of the North Sea coast in summer. Every few centimeters you can see lugworms moving the mud or spraying water into the air. Apparently the oystercatcher thinks there is a better chance of getting a meal where there is movement and darts there.
