Das Prachtkleid entsteht erst im Frühjahr, wenn sich die weissen Spitzen der Federn abgenutzt haben. Erst dann bekommt das Gefieder diesen Eindruck als sei es aus Metall. Der Schnabel ist ebenfalls nur zu dieser Zeit leuchtend gelb.
Um das Bild besonders detailreich sehen zu können, drückt die Tasten l (kleines L) und F11. Beim vergrößern nur durch anklicken gehen viele Details verloren.
The full colouration is developed during spring time when the white tips of the feathers are worn off. It is only then that the plumage gets this metallic shine. Also the beak is yellow only during this time of the year.
