An unexpected find! Devon and Sconce Park, Newark.
Foxgloves have to be treated with respect as they are extremely poisonous! The Latin name is Digitalis Purpurea Albiflora and one or two of you will be able to spot that the drug/poison Digitalis was obtained from it in past times, now replaced by the chemically produced one of Digoxin which is used to slow the heart rate down.
This is a very attractive pink flower burst and can be found in the wild but also in gardens in white or purple. It can be a very nice border plant with its tall spikes and white cup or bell like flowers that have purple markings in their throat.
This is wild in many areas but I found this very unexpectedly in an area of Devon and Sconce Park, Newark, that I often neglect!
