Fancy a coffee?
Although this is now a coffee shop, it was originally two private house built in the late 15C. Situated on the corner of Kirk Gate and Middlegate in Newark it has been altered and restored in the mid 19C and 20C.
This very attractive hall-timbered building is a beautiful example of that style of construction. I can find very little in my exhaustive research about its history so I can’t tell you when it was first used as a commercial premises. All the similarly made buildings in Newark town centre are now either pubs or shops of some sort. None are still used as residences
