RS 16 CRISTIANSUND
RS 16 "Christiansund" was a rescue boat built for the Rescue Company in 1901. It was designed by Colin Archer, and built by Thor Jensen at Porsgrun Baatbyggeri. In 1921 she was sold to Norges Sjøkartverk.
The crew of RS "Chrisiansund" was honored with Emile Robin's reward for the cruising seasons 1908-1909, 1910-1911 and for 1918.
Today it is an association of friends, the "friends' association RS Christiansund", which operates the boat. The foundation Norsk Kystkultursenter is the owner of the barge, which is located at Mellemværftet in Kristiansund
