The steam engine house

The steam engine house, as this fine brick building is called in everyday speech, was built after the fire to house the large steam engine that was purchased from England. Today, the steam engine house is the only building left after the traditional Strandheim Brug, which was one of Norway's first prefabricated house manufacturers. From here, houses were sent to all corners of the world, and one of the most famous is the Stave Church, which was built for the Chicago World's Fair in 1893.
