Barrage Number 2 (Ouagadougou//Burkina Faso)
The city of Ouagadougou contains a set of three water reservoirs called "Dams 1, 2 and 3" upstream of Bangr-Wéogo Park. They constitute an island of freshness particularly appreciated in the dry and hot season (March-May). The construction of the Ziga dam, approximately 50 kilometres northeast of the capital, to ensure water supply made it possible to better develop the three water reservoirs. Market gardening is carried out on the banks, thus offering short circuits for the supply of vegetables (urban agriculture), just as many spaces have been set up for relaxation under the mango trees, which are taken over on weekends.
La ville de Ouagadougou renferme un ensemble de trois retenues d'eau dénommées "Barrages 1, 2 et 3" en amont du Parc Bangr-Wéogo". Ils constituent un îlot de fraîcheur tout particulièrement apprécié en saison sèche et chaude (Mars-Mai). La réalisation du barrage de Ziga à environ 50 kilomètres au nord-est de la capitale pour en assurer l'approvisionnement en eau a permis de mieux mettre en valeur les trois retenues d'eau. La production maraîchère est menée sur les berges offrant ainsi des circuits courts pour l'approvisionnement en légumes (agriculture urbaine) tout comme de nombreux espaces ont été aménagés pour la détente sous les manguiers qui sont pris d'assaut les week-ends.
