I tried to align the plane, dead on, in the middle of a square. I wanted the plane to be slightly blurred, but not too much so I used f/6.3 to get a moderate depth-of-field. Because it was a rainy day and fairly dark, I used a high ISO and adjusted the shutter speed to expose it properly. In retrospect, I probably could have used a lower ISO and lower shutter speed. I adjusted my variable zoom lens to 23mm to capture the whole plane. In Lightroom, I emphasized shadows.
