The 17th century Bull pub on the green, Great Milton, Oxfordshire

Recorded as an inn in 1684.

In the 80's Great Milton had four pubs, but like so many villages, this is the only survivor. It too has been struggling and was bought as a community pub ten years ago until yet again it looked like it would fail, unable to survive Covid and changing social habits. In August, 2023 it was bought by an anonymous businessman to save it for the village, and hopefully, this charming old pub has been rescued yet again from becoming private housing.

A village pub is so important; they really are the heart and soul of the community and it's staggering that one of Britain's great institutions should be left to flounder like this.
