The British Masters European Tour Golf Tournament at Close House, Northumberland - near Newcastle upon Tyne, 28 Sept - 1 Oct 2017. The Pro-Am tournament on Weds 27 Sept was preceded the evening before by The Hero Challenge. Played under lights, this exciting version of the game utilises the 18th hole with 8 professionals (and a separate celebrity challenge) in a shoot-out competition. The razzmatazz is hyped up by flame-throwers and player microphones; the live Sky Sports coverage was hosted by Vernon Kay and Kirsty Gallacher. Photos are slightly grainy due to the darkness, zoom lens and lack of a tripod! Around 4,000 fans attended the event with a further 18,000 officially attending the first day of the Masters on 28th September.
