From Waste Collector to Community Leader: Roselyn Gomia
When Lydia, Roselyn, and Jailyn first began waste picking, it was a way to survive and support their families. Today, with support from USAID and its Clean Cities, Blue Ocean program, Project Zacchaeus (PZC), a Philippines-based social enterprise, has engaged over fifty local waste collectors to empower them to become environmental stewards with a voice, knowledge, and leadership skills to champion solid waste management and become agents of change in their communities.
Roselyn is proud to be an Eco-Warrior. Through the training she has received, Roselyn learned to propagate plants in plastic waste she collected, jumpstarting her nursery business.
