The Huntington Beach Historical Society is proud to host the 20th annual Civil War Days Living History and Reenactment in Huntington Beach Central Park on the 151th anniversary of the War Between the States. Civil War Days is a living history encampment and reenactment where Civil War soldiers will set up historical campsites and reenact various scenarios to demonstrate what life was like during the Civil War.The Huntington Beach Civil War Days Reenactment event takes visitors back to 1862.The Confederate and Union armies each have their own separate camps in Huntington Beach Central Park where uniformed soldiers go about camp life and also prepare for the two civil war battle reenactments that take place each day.Each Civil War battle reenactment has plenty of action including cannon fire, rifles, advances and retreats, flags, drums, and more.Following each battle is either a weapons demonstration or a pass and review of the armies in front of President Lincoln.About 20 minutes after each Civil War battle reenactment, President Lincoln will give his famous Gettysburg Address.
