A Wish and a Prayer

Whenever I see one of these little Airstreams on the road, it always gets my attention. I'm as enamored as anyone, I guess, of something that seems to represent an easier time and yet still has the promise of future adventures. I always wish that I were pulling that Silver Bullet, heading for, I don't know, anywhere but where I am. And that that means I could also be anyone else too. After passing the driver hauling this particular RV, though, I had the feeling that this wasn't a vacation for them, rather that it might be home and that they didn't necessarily know where they would land. Both car and its haul had seen better days; driver too by the looks of him. There was something so sad and serious about all the car's occupants that as we pulled ahead, I had to say a little prayer that if things were as I imagined, with time and travel they would eventually arrive at a better life.
