Le voilier Esmeralda de la marine chilienne effectue une escale de quelques jours à Brest, où il est arrivé le 23 juin 2024 dernier en provenance de Cadix, en Espagne. C'est d'ailleurs dans ce port que ce quatre-mâts goélette à brigantine a été construit en 1946. A l'origine destiné à devenir un bâtiment-école pour la marine espagnole, il a été donné au Chili en 1954.
The Chilean navy training ship Esmeralda is making a stopover for a few days in Brest, where it arrived on June 23 from Cadiz, Spain. It is also in this port that this four-masted brigantine schooner was built in 1946. Originally intended to become a training ship for the Spanish navy, it was given to Chile in 1954.
