Śrī Govardhana Mahārāja

 

śrī govardhana mahārāja, …tere māthe mukuṭa virāja rahyo (1)

 

O Govardhana Mahārāja! Your head is adorned with a beautiful crown.

 

tere kānana kuṇḍala sohe rahe, aur gala vaijayantī mālā… (2)

 

From your ears dangle dazzling earrings, and from your neck hangs a splendid vaijayantī garland.

 

tere mukha pai muralīyā soha rahī, ṭhoḓī pai hīrā lāla… (3)

 

Upon your lips rests the muralī flute, and upon your chin a red ruby shines.

 

tere aṅga mẽ jāmā kesariyā, aur paṭakā lāla gulāla… (4)

 

Your body is covered with a saffron-colored tunic and a reddish-pink cādara.

 

tope pāna caḓhe aur phūla caḓhe, tope diye jarẽ dina rāta… (5)

 

You are presented with betel nuts, flowers, and lit ghee-lamps, day and night.

 

tere mānasī-gaṅgā nikaṭa vahe, tope caḓhe dudha kī dhāra… (6)

 

Mānasī-gaṅgā flows near you, and you are bathed in a shower of milk.

 

terī sāt kosa kī parikammā, aur cakaleśvara viśrāma… (7)

 

Your seven kosa (fourteen mile) parikramā is completed at Cakaleśvara.
