Downy Woodpecker

The fall in Michigan this year gave some particularly nice days. One afternoon, I decided to point my camera out of my bedroom window and see what I would get.

The Downy Woodpecker is a year-round presence, and such birds are easy to take for granted while I run off to chase birds that are harder for me to encounter. However, photographing these omnipresent birds will always generate good results when I take advantage of a good opportunity of light and action.
