Northern Parula

Warbler Migration was was very dense and diverse this May along the Lake Huron Shore.

One of the highlights of the birding year is Warbler Migration and the chance to see as many birds and species as possible, and this year provided one of the most dense and diverse arrivals of the past several years.

The NP winters in the Caribbean as well as Eastern Mexico and breeds in the Southeast as well as lower Southeast Canada, northern MN, WI, and MI.

One will find the NP near the tops of canopies on nesting grounds. During migration, I have found that they favor this kind of willow and the pollen and insects they provide.
