American Avocet
Four Avocets showed up while I was trying to get a decent pose from a Western Sandpiper at the Bolivar Flats. Four of these birds appeared and started feeding in a small pool of water on the beach. The avocet feeds, though, by sweeping its bill to the left and right, so most of the shots didn't have the appeal I was looking for, or one or two of the birds were partially out of the frame. But this one turned out respectably, even as the late morning sun was moving overhead and becoming a bit harsh.
