Painted Bunting--Male

The Painted Bunting is common across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana, while the species is also found in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. I found them on tops of trees, on fences, and flitting around forest vegetation. Never easy to get a good shot of this bird because it moves around a lot. The secret was to choose a spot, sit still and wait.
