Sir Hectimere
Semi-Fast From Salisbury - 30448
The water supply at Salisbury (72B) engine shed was very soft. This could cause priming on some engines especially the depot's allocation of N15 King Arthurs, which were, for some reason, particularly prone. Showing signs of a recent and untidy boiler washout, 72Bs No. 30448 Sir Tristram heads the 08.46 Salisbury Waterloo up semi-fast train through Wimbledon station on the 18th June 1960. This working meant that 30448 would return on its way to Basingstoke with the 14.54 semi-fast later in the day.
In place of his original Drummond 'Watercart' tender, Sir Tristram had been fitted with an 8 wheel Urie 5000 gallon version from S15 No. 30503 in May 1955.

Sir Tristram was withdrawn at the end of the 1960 summer season in August and was reduced to scrap at Eastleigh works in the September of that year.
