Sir Hectimere
All Alone Am I - Class 55
How times have changed since this stretch of line 'between the tunnels' out of Kings Cross used to be crammed with steam engines to-ing and fro-ing between the station and engine sheds which lay beyond the arched bridge in the distance. Empty stock and main line expresses and goods trains too, Holloway Bank never saw a minutes peace in the days of steam.
In this view a lone Deltic heads for servicing at the purpose built diesel depot at Finsbury Park.
Amazingly even the still quite busy North London Line (over the bridge in the foreground) was quiet at this moment.
Camera: Olympus Pen F Half Frame SLR.
