D-ABOV "Berlin"
Boeing 707-330B
18462 / 333
Lufthansa
D-ABOV at the holding point for Riem’s runway 07. Note the "Official Airline München 1972" Olympic sticker. This was a very early Lufthansa Boeing 707-330B, the first one to be delivered to the airline (on 28 February 1963) following five Rolls-Royce powered 707-430s delivered between January 1960 and March 1961.
Information from airhistory.net - thanks to Paul Seymour (slightly adapted):
New to Lufthansa as D-ABOS in February 1963, named "Duisburg", re-registered as D-ABOV in May 1963. Leased to Condor in 1967 and returned in 1969, re-named "Berlin". To LAN Chile as CC-CCG in 1974. Withdrawn from use at Los Cerrillos Airport, Santiago de Chile in 1986. Preserved at Museo Aeronautico y del Espacio from 1990.
This is the only 707 once operated by Lufthansa that has been preserved (source: www.707jet.com).
